The Arafellin, skilled swordsmen, "... always wear two swords, both strapped to their backs, one hilt over each shoulder, and are capable of using both at once, one in each hand." <RJWoT: 28, 252, The Borderlands> This suggest that the swords are no longer than the length suggested for Tam's sword, i.e. no more than about 40", and possibly a fair bit shorter. A two-handed hilt is possible, especially if the swords resemble a Japanese katana - if the swords follow a Western design, a one-handed hilt, or hand-and-a-half design seem more likely.Of their overall appearance, we only know that men "... wear their hair in two long braids, usually with silver bells on the braid-ends." <RJWoT: 28, 251, The Borderlands>
